Choosing Right Multivitamin
You must have heard of the advantages offered by multivitamin supplements. The main advantage offered by multivitamins is that it will treat as well as help prevent almost any nutrient deficiency that you have. Nutrient deficiency occurs due to poor diet. Now you must be wondering whether all multivitamin supplements are the same or not, as most contain almost 100% of your daily value of nutrients. However, the truth is that this is not the case. “You are what you eat” is true for food and “You are what you absorb” is true for multivitamins.

There are main three reasons why cheap multivitamins are inferior to the higher quality multivitamins.

Mineral form:
A glimpse of a multi vitamin label will allow you to view the entire list of nutrients. All the forms of minerals are found to be absorbed in equal amounts. The fact is that the most commonly used oxide form has the lowest absorption rate. It will not matter even if you take 100% of the recommended daily value and you are just absorbing a fraction of that.

Excess of vitamin:
This is yet another problem with multivitamin pills. This means they have 100% of the daily value of some nutrients, but you will be getting all of these vitamins at any one time. You need to remember that it is daily value. This means, it needs to be consumed throughout the day instead of a single dose. The big one-day mega doses prove to be ineffective for the purpose of absorption and keeping the levels of nutrients high through the entire day.

Compression:
The drug store vitamins are formulated in such a way so that you are required to take just one pill a day. In order to fit all nutrients into a single capsule, serious compression and heating is done during the manufacturing process. This not only leads to damaging the fragile minerals and vitamins, but also turns the pills so hard that it becomes difficult for the body to break down to absorb the vitamins.

Therefore, choosing the best multivitamin brand available should be a good idea. Do not expect to find them at the nearest drugstore but instead check with your doctor. Some brands sell multivitamins only through medical professionals and in most cases these are high quality. Choosing the right multivitamins remains the key to good health.
